Press Release: Inclusive Performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Showcases the Talents of SEND Students

We are thrilled to announce an exciting, inclusive production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, set to take the stage on 30th November. This unique adaptation has been specifically crafted to highlight the creative talents of our students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The performance is not only an opportunity to bring this classic story to life but also a celebration of the diverse abilities within our school community. Every aspect of the production— from acting to set design and costumes—has been thoughtfully adapted to ensure that each student can contribute in a way that reflects their individual strengths and abilities.

Our SEND students have been at the heart of the entire creative process, working closely with our skilled teaching staff to shape an imaginative and accessible version of the beloved story. Through bespoke drama sessions, we’ve empowered students to develop their communication, collaboration, and performance skills in a safe, supportive environment.

This inclusive performance is a testament to the power of the arts in building confidence, nurturing creativity, and promoting collaboration, regardless of ability. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm of all our students involved in this production, and we can’t wait to share their talents with the wider community.

Join us on 30th November at the Arc in Caterham to experience this special adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and celebrate the achievements of our SEND students in what promises to be a memorable and heartwarming performance.
